Interventionless MagnumDisk™

Legendary reliability for horizontal applications

Using two dome-shaped disks, the Interventionless MagnumDisk reliably isolates wellbore reservoir pressure, eliminating the need for intervention with slickline or coiled tubing. Its proprietary construction provides considerable strength and durability in a variety of downhole conditions. To isolate the tubing and place the hydraulic set packers, the tool is run as an isolation barrier on the bottom of the tubing and/or below the packer BHA. Once tests are performed, a predetermined activation pressure is applied at the surface to remove the MagnumDisks. After removal, wellbore fluids can be produced up the production tubing.

Single Interventionless MagnumDisk™

Float casing into the wellbore for greater efficiency

Based on the field-proven technology of the Dual MagnumDisk™, the Single Interventionless MagnumDisk delivers even greater efficiency in longer laterals with heavier casing strings. Its proprietary design allows operators to float casing into the wellbore, dramatically reducing lateral weight and drag forces — saving time and money.

The Single Interventionless MagnumDisk is set on the surface to open at a predetermined pressure, then run in the hole as an isolation device just above the kickoff point. When needed, the tool can be activated by simply applying the predetermined pressure, which translates into unrestricted wellbore communication.

Single MagnumDisk™

Effective for use as a barrier for snubbing operations

The Single MagnumDisk Barrier Valve is primarily used as a barrier for snubbing operations. Once the tubing is landed, the pressure is applied down the tubing to create the required overbalance to remove the MagnumDisk internal barrier device. The Single MagnumDisk Barrier Valve is also used in conjunction with completion packer BHAs and TCP BHAs as an underbalance device. In these applications, the MagnumDisk internal barrier device is removed by applying pressure from the surface or with a MagnumDisk™ Drop Bar or Magnum Disk Breaker Tool with slickline or coiled tubing.

Dual MagnumDisk™

Performance on both sides

Constructed of proprietary material, the Dual MagnumDisk™ offers incredible strength and durability in a variety of downhole conditions, isolating wellbore reservoir pressure via two dome-shaped disks. Perfect for snubbing applications, it handles pressure equally from either side, translating to twice the performance. The sub is run on the bottom of the tubing and/or below a packer BHA to isolate the tubing and act as a barrier to place hydraulic set packers. After all of the tests are performed, the disks are knocked out using a Magnum Go-Devil Drop Bar, coiled tubing, slickline or sand line. Once disks are removed, wellbore fluids can be produced up the production tubing.

Cost-effective performance under higher pressures

The Extreme Dual MagnumDisk™ offers incredible strength and durability for a variety of downhole conditions. Constructed of proprietary materials, it isolates wellbore reservoir pressure via two dome-shaped disks. It can be effectively deployed for snubbing, tubing-isolation, and deepwater applications. The sub is run on the bottom of the tubing and/or below a packer BHA to isolate the tubing and act as a barrier to place hydraulic set packers. After all of the tests are performed, the disks are knocked out using a Magnum Go-Devil Drop Bar, coiled tubing, slickline or sand line. Once disks are removed, wellbore fluids can be produced up the production tubing.

Extreme Single MagnumDisk™

Snubbing operations at up to 15,000 psi

The Extreme Single MagnumDisk Barrier Valve is designed for conditions up to 400°F and 15K psi and is primarily used as a barrier for snubbing operations. Once the tubing is landed, the pressure is applied down the tubing to create the required overbalance to remove the MagnumDisk internal barrier device. The Single MagnumDisk Barrier Valve is also used in conjunction with completion packer BHAs and TCP BHAs as an underbalance device. In these applications, the MagnumDisk internal barrier device is removed by applying pressure from the surface with a MagnumDisk Drop Bar or a MagnumDisk Breaker Tool with slickline or coiled tubing.
